Roberto Ferrero

Biography

Roberto Ferrero (S’10-M’14-SM’18) received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees (all cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic of Milan, Italy, in 2008, 2009 and 2013, respectively.

He is currently a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, University of Liverpool, U.K., where he previously was a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) from 2015 to 2019. His main research activity focuses on electrical measurements, particularly applied to power systems, electrochemical devices and wearable sensors.

Dr. Ferrero is a member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, and of its TC 39 (Measurements in Power Systems). He is serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, from January 2025. Previously, he was Associate Editor (2017-2020), Associate Editor-in-Chief (2021) and Senior Area Editor (2022-2024) for the same journal.

He was also the recipient of the 2021 “Outstanding Young Engineer Award” and the 2016 “Best application in I&M Award”, both awarded by the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society.
